About Us

Paul Auckett established Look Art Consulting in 1998, as an online gallery. Over the years the business has developed into an Investment Art Dealer and Art Consultant.

When Paul began he was a pioneer of the dedicated online gallery and was one of the first in Australia to be a true online gallery without a shop front, embracing the new technology to make investing in art more cost effective. His vision was documented in an article published in The Age newspaper, Investing in Art on the Net.

Since then he has developed a showroom and sees clients by appointment from his St Kilda office. Here, specific works can be shown or other services discussed after an initial consultation, to determine the client's requirements.

Paul also makes onsite visits, particularly for Insurance Valuation purposes, where an entire collection needs to be documented and valued.

As the Director of Look Art Consulting, Paul is often called upon by the media to make a comment on the state of the market, in his capacity as an industry insider following closely the secondary art market, he also regularly presents seminars on Investing and Collecting Fine Art at various galleries and venues.
